We finish reading his biography, hear of his journey to America, and his days as a berry picker, stocking knitter, and wreath-maker before finding his hermitage at Erving Castle. Next, we present some additional information on John Smith's later life gathered from newspapers, census records, and other research - including a story that a second hermit took over Erving Castle, causing John Smith to move to a new abode elsewhere on the mountain.
